Removed cement based ribbon pointing and replaced with a 2:1:1 Sand, Grit + Lime mortar, beaten back and churn brushed for a traditional finish.

A newly built stone wall to create a more defined parking area and protect from wind. Using a blend of reclaimed limestone.
Chessell Pottery, Brook
A newly built stone wall mid-project, to provide privacy to the residence and create a boundary wall. A mix of reclaimed limestone and Ventnor green sandstone.

A proud resident of the Isle of Wight, I have cultivated a passion for stonework, restoration and general building work. I enjoy the physicality and the fact that this job allows me to work on and create tangible builds, that will last and be seen for years to come. Each project not only allows me to connect with the history of the Island but also previous generations of builders and the techniques they used. To be able to restore and add to the great work done by masons for hundreds of years knowing the same will be done to my work in the future is very fulfilling.

Repointing
Repointing is vital for maintaining walls and the integrity of the masonry within them. Appropriate mixes and types of mortars are not only important for the integrity of the wall but can also change the entire aesthetic of a build/project. I offer brickwork and stone repointing, but with a focus to lime-repointing and the conservation of our beautiful and rich heritage of stone buildings.
Stonework
Focusing on the building of stone retaining walls and on stone houses. I've worked with many types of stone, offering new buildwork and the repair and conservation of existing masonry. Having worked on listed buildings and commercial properties alike, the goal is to provide stable and aesthetic masonry projects that stand the test of time.
General Building work
Despite my focus and interest on stonework, I also offer a wide range of general building work. This includes patios, lintel replacements, chimney builds and all other types of construction projects.
